Résumé
Daniel Jiménez de Cisneros was natural history professor at Instituto General y Técnico (Secondary School) in Alicante from 1903 until his retirement. When he started to work at the Instituto of Alicante he introduced field trips as a crucial part of this teaching work, using these field trips to do scientific studies. This researching task that began when he started his work in Alicante reached huge proportions. He published about 200 articles, most of them related to field trips. His studies are key in the geology and paleontology studies in the SE. of Spain. This paper summarizes professor Jiménez de Cisneros field trips activities and the influence of these activities on his teaching work and on his research studies.
