Resumen

For some time, a gradually increased level of relevance has been granted to lexical combinatorics, in general, and also to collocations, particularly in the field of foreign language didactics. In this sense, it is evident that students need lexicographic products that are available to support their learning. This PhD thesis investigates the possibility of creating a didactic lexicographic tool that enables learners of Spanish as a foreign language to use and learn about lexical combinatorics. Therefore, the main objective of this thesis is to create a proposal of a bilingual Spanish-Portuguese combinatorics dictionary aimed at students that have Brazilian Portuguese as their mother tongue and whose level of Spanish is within the levels B1 and B2 according to the European Common Framework of Reference for Languages. The methodology employed for the construction of this dictionary is supported by the functional theory of lexicography. This thesis is structured in five chapters. Chapter 1 focuses on the notion of collocation, the starting point of this piece of research. In this chapter, the main definitions and characteristics proposed by different scholars, as well as the similarities and differences existing between collocations and other related linguistic phenomena, are presented. Chapter 2 discusses the relevant theoretical framework, that of didactic lexicography. With this regard, on the one hand, the three main pillars that underpin didactic lexicography are presented; this is the type of user, their needs, and their abilities with regard to dictionary usage. On the other hand, the main features of various types of didactic dictionaries are highlighted. Furthermore, this chapter includes a general overview of the way collocations are addressed in monolingual, bilingual and combinatorics Spanish dictionaries. Chapter 3 covers all the methodological procedures followed in the elaboration of the dictionary draft, which are as follows: delimitation of functional parameters, determination of the needs of the users, compilation of a combinations corpus and configuration of the hyper, macro and micro structures. In chapter 4, the elements that make up the hyper, macro and microstructure of the dictionary are stated and the seventy articles that compose the draft are presented. Lastly, chapter 5 contains the conclusions reached throughout the investigation. The thesis ends with a section of bibliographic references and an appendix.
