Abstract

Paradigm shift towards caring for the planet Earth is necessary and urgent. In the First World, wehave a generation of highly technologized young people with certain ideals of the meaning of life andjustice but most of them feel that they cannot alter the course of events. The best way to take care ofour environment is to educate the agents who will make the decisions in the future: our children. Thereare many courses, activities, educational materials and policies that contribute to this improvement. However, most of them do not propose a complete program to help, on the one hand, to make childrenunderstand how we got to this point and, on the other, what we can do to change the course of eventsproactively. The smart-ecology project “Caring for Earth” uses art as a mediator between the realityand the solution generating initiatives that are nourished by literature, drawing, painting, sculpture andarchitecture.
