Resum

Ecosystem Services (ES) appeared by the end of 20th century and, as a concept, it becomes an important reference for bio-diversity conservation and manage. It is remarkable the way the concept depicts either ecological perspective as well as final user perspectives. Applied to wetlands, ES has allowed a complete framework to fully interpret its dynamics and the effects derived from wet-land´s manage in benefit of societies. This chapter summarizes the conceptual framework for the study of es in wetlands.
