Resum

One of the most interesting projects of the cultural activity of the Spanish Republican exile in Bogota was the magazine Espiral (1944- 1975), in whose founding and direction the exiled Clemente Airó was involved. Although its focus of interest was the Colombian context, the Spanish artistic tradition was also a central theme of this publication. In this article, we propose to explore the presence of the great myths of the Spanish culture in the pages of Espiral. Specifically, we will attend to the evocations and homages to Antonio Machado, Federico García Lorca and Miguel Hernández, ethical and aesthetic referents of the intellectual diaspora of 1939.
