Zusammenfassung

17% of infectious diseases are vector-borne. Vectors are animals that transmit pathogens, like parasites, bacteria and virus, between animal and human, or human to human. These diseases are more frequently found in tropical and subtropical areas and in countries with difficult access to healthy water and poor hygiene. The most representative vector is the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which is original from tropical and subtropical areas, but currently, it has spread around the world. Sicknesses transmitted by this vector are, for example, dengue, yellow fever, chikungunya, and Zika, which currently stands out. This one has recently caused a strong social and health impact by becoming a risk factor for malformation in newborns given birth to by infected women. Because of this risk, the main focus of our paper is the different technologies of diagnosis and prevention of this disease.
