Zusammenfassung

The recent increase of migratory movement of South America population to Spain is associated with an increase of tropical endemic parasitic infections incidence in Madrid Community. In order to deal with these new infections in our environment, it is necessary to study its epidemiological evolution. According to previous articles, the most prevalent parasitic infections in the migrant population are malaria, Chagas disease, leishmaniasis, strongyloidiasis and neurocysticercosis. In this article, we focus on the individual study of each of these infections, including its transmission, its clinical picture, its possible complications and the way the tour up our environment. In order to reduce the impact that these imported parasitic infections has in Madrid, it is fundamental to establish a special protocol, this will include screening and early diagnosis in immigrant population and travelers coming from the endemic region.
