Abstract

This study analyzes the most important arthropods in Medicine as disease vectors or clinical signs producers in humans, considering that they are the largest group in the animal kingdom. Anatomical features that allow these invertebrates to hurt human being will be described in this study. These physical structures differ a lot from an arthropod species to another one. Epidemiology will be discussed too, and referring to this subject, these animals geographical distribution is universal and they are more problematic in developing countries due to the lack of resources to combat them (such as a good hygiene, a sewer system or covered latrines). Clinical signs produced by these invertebrates, whose severity will change greatly depending on each species, and preventive measures to avoid or even eradicate these animals, will also be explained.
