Resumen

Data were transcribed from the archives of general anthropological forms collected by MPN between 1900 and 1925. Data were validated, filtered and finally pooled according to children age and the year of measurement. They were analysed in search of any secular trends and also in comparison with more contemporary published data from Spanish populations. Unpublished primary data for hand grip strength were collected from historical records of schoolchildren attending summer camps organized by the Spanish National Pedagogic Museum between 1900 and 1925. This work assesses a possible secular change in this dynamometric parameter, also comparing to later studies up to the present.
