Abstract

Enmity, as a political use of language in political theory, outlines borders that are drawn and delayed when articulated with concepts that activate the intensity of conflicts in the discourse. Its meaning attends to the contextual elements and is permanently exposed to the contingent, so its meaning is always partial and responds to singular symbolic elements, subject to the moment and space in which they are stated. The purpose of this research is to analyze this framework, specifically from the construction of the political enemy in Mexico between 1982 and 2006, from an approach that assumes the political under the Schmittian criterion of friend-enemy and through a post-structuralist view of the theory. of discourse, where the logic of antagonism and agonism unfolds, as a way of dealing with the conflict. To understand the discursive trajectory associated with the construction of neoliberal hegemony as a new reason for the world, the period of analysis recovers the voice of the State as a differentiating element for the production and articulation of the meanings in dispute, through an analysis context that recovers both inaugural speeches and government reports corresponding to the study period...
