Doctor by the Universidad de Alcalá with the thesis Seguimiento de múltiples objetos en entornos interiores muy poblados basado en la combinación de métodos probabilísticos y determinísticos 2008. Supervised by Dr. Juan Carlos García García, Dr. Miguel Angel Sotelo Vázquez.

The research activity began in 1999, when joined the Electronic Engineering Group applied to Intelligent Spaces (GEINTRA), where was focused from the beginning in the area of intelligent systems, embedded systems and mobile robotics. The works developed are mainly focused on probabilistic algorithms for autonomous robots (area in which develops her PhD), computer vision, objects and people detection and positioning with multiple sensor-networks. She has thus deep experience in electronic control systems, image processing, and later on machine learning and deep learning techniques. In parallel, was working in the area of applications to intelligent environments (video-surveillance) and to assistive technologies (AAL). She made a stay of 15 weeks in 2003 at the Swedish KTH, financed by a competitive grant. Within her research experience, it is worth highlighting her participation in 33 research projects financed in competitive public calls, 19 of them national (in 2 of them as principal investigator), and 1 European, and 20 for private entities (in 2 as principal investigator), and with 3 registered patents. It is also important to highlight her participation as evaluator in national calls in the field of applied engineering from 2018: as Experto de la Agencia Estatal de Investigación; and as Colaboradora Técnica de la Ag. Calidad Científica y Univ. de Andalucía. Author of 39 articles in journals, 36 of them international indexed in the JCR (24 Q1-Q2 and 3 D1), published in different magazines, going through peer reviews. Highlighted participation as a reviewer in highly valued journals in the field of applied engineering: IEEE Trans. on Multimedia, Autonomous Robots, Sensors, etc. She is also the author of 5 international research book chapters. She contributes with more than 70 communications to international conferences (and more than 20 in national ones) organized by highly recognized associations, in which a peer review is carried out, and participating in many of them as a reviewer, and as program chair in some (IECON, VISSAP, etc.). Organizer of 9 local workshops and 1 Special Session (Multisensor Signal Processing for Applications in Intelligent Spaces) in the IEEE ISIE, and collaborator in the organization of numerous events of diffusion (congresses and international and national conferences). Supervisor of 2 PhD evaluated with CumLaude (both European PhD) and 4 under development. 19 master and 35 bachelor thesis directed and 4 under development. The most relevant metrics are: • RG Interest Score: 500.1 (>86% members), h-index 17 without auto-citat., 820 citat., 23618 reads • According Google Academics, 1229 citat., 491 from 2029, h-index 21 (12 from 2020), i10-index 40 (14 from 2020) • Positive valuation of 4 consecutive periods of the research activity (sexenios), last 2015 to 2020 • Financial incomes during the last 5 years: in competitive public calls 60.790,40€, in private contracts 38.720,00 €
