Abstract

This research studies and analyzes the reasons that influence the development of entrepreneurship in a person, that is, what legislative, socioeconomic and cultural factors together with the educational context would explain the entrepreneurial action, as well as analyzing the stimulation mechanisms of entrepreneurial capacity, in the different contexts mentioned above, and specifically in the province of Guadalajara. The methodology that has been used in this research has been eminently qualitative, following the postulates of the Grounded Theory, for which 24 in-depth interviews have been conducted with entrepreneurs, school counselors and economics teachers of Secondary Schools, in the province from Guadalajara. This research analyzes the conceptual, legislative and historical evolution of entrepreneurship, delves into the study of entrepreneurship in the province of Guadalajara and presents the results of qualitative research on entrepreneurial initiative in the current education system, whose final milestone has been the inclusion of entrepreneurship as a basic key competence. The results of the research highlight the current complexity of the concept of entrepreneurship, which derives from two processes: a) its extension when linked to attitudes rather than aptitudes, b) its consideration as a competence that can be taught and learned. Attending to the results of the interviews, these attitudes should be promoted and taught in the learning processes of the students in the different educational stages
