Résumé
At the re-start of the One Hundred Years War in early 1370 the situation on the border between Navarre and Castile was unstable due to the likelihood of Breton troops, commanded by Bertrand du Guesclin, crossing it on their way to France. This situation forced Queen Juana de Valois, governor of the kingdom of Navarre, to order the inspection of castles and fortresses along border localities, such as Logroño and Vitoria, both of them conquered around mid 1368. The accounts of this trip recorded by Lope Garcia de Ibilcieta, treasurer of the kingdom, and his companions provide us with first hand access lo questions about supplies, food and social relationships during the trip.
