Resumo

People we are immersed in a multitude of relationships with others. Our whole life is a life in the company, so their relevance both survival and human development. The absence of company is known as the phenomenon of loneliness. Loneliness has been studied from different conceptual perspectives such as philosophical, social or psychological. The latter being the most about literature generated. The meaning associated with the state of loneliness differs in function from that perspective is evaluated. Philosophical understood as a positive state that it is necessary for personal development. In contrast, focuses on the psychological negative impact it has on the health of the person. To approach the phenomena of company and loneliness has used the logical deductive method from the extraction of knowledge from literature sources referenced in this article. Being the key to the definition developed by the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language Company field. The company is understood as the combination possibilities between physical, emotional and intentional company. For the phenomenon occurs company requires that there be at least one person and accompanied by an attendant, and the presence of a relationship between the two subjects. As opposed to the state company is loneliness, following the deductive method, understood as the combination possibilities between physical, emotional and intentional loneliness.
