Herein, we will describe the synthesis and characterization of several dinu- clear tetralkyl µ-oxo titanium complexes [{ti(η5-c5Me5)r2}2(µ-O)] (r = Me (2), cH2Ph (3), cH2siMe3 (4), cH2Me2cPh (5)) by treatment of the starting material [{ti(η5-c5Me5)cl2}2(µ-O)] (1) with four equivalents of the corresponding alkylating reagents. selective carbon-hydrogen bond activation of alkanes and arenes and its sub- sequent functionalization in value-added compounds involving transition metal-based systems has been a research goal in organometallic chemistry. thus, for instance, the compound 4 undergoes intramolecular c-H bond activation reactions to give sequen- tially a series of metallacycle [ti2(η 5-c5Me5)2(µ-cH2siMe2cH2)(cH2siMe3)2(µ-O)] (6), [ti2(η 5-c5Me5)2(µ-cH2siMe2cH2)2(µ-O)] (7) and [ti2(η 5-c5Me5)2(µ- cH2siMe2cH2)(µ-cHsiMe3)(µ-O)] (8).
