Zusammenfassung
Hygienic superabsorbent pads used by sexual assault victims are often collected and examined in forensic laboratories of genetics. the analysis of bodily fluids on these complex materials is difficult and may lead to wrong dismissal of these forensic evidence. In this study, semen, vaginal fluid and urine on superabsorbent pads were non-des- tructively detected by Atr-FtIr, showing more intense Ir spectra on the upper layer. Additionally, mixtures of these bodily fluids prepared on superabsorbent pads were analysed, since real forensic investigations involving sexual abuse usually deal with kind of mixtures. the Ir protein region of semen and vaginal fluid was quite similar, except for slight visual differences, which were further differentiated by chemometrics and Multivariate analysis. therefore, Atr-FtIr combined with chemometric analysis is a potential presumptive technique for non-destructive and rapid differen- tiation of human bodily fluids on these kind of forensic evidence.
