Resumen

Dehesas are traditional agrosilvopastoral systems characterized by a high multifunctionality, integrating animal production, crops, agroforestry, and hunting. However, in the last decades the changes on the agrifood chain have promoted intensification, specialization, and abandonment processes, that threaten the viability of these high natural value systems. new approaches are required to better understand the relationships between environmental conditions, management practices and natural values and promote Dehesas preservation. However, it is difficult due to the diversity of management options they have. Here it is presented the methodology follow on the project life Biodehesa to characterise and assess the ecosystem services that dehesas provide, relevant for its applicability in other agroecosystems.
