Abstract

detention against Russia, Italy, Bulgaria, Hungary, Belgium and Romania. So far, the Committee of Ministers has only closed the supervision of the execution of one of these judgments: the Torreggiani pilot judgment. This paper analyzes the measures taken by the Italian government to comply With the Torreggíani judgment. These measures could serve as an example for Other countries, if the European Court Of Human Rights decides to issue new pilot judgment on overcrowding and improper conditions of detention in the future.
