Abstract
Chlorpyrifos (CPF) is one of the most widely used organophosphate insecticide in agriculture. Because of the vulnerability of the developing nervous system, prenatal and early postnatal exposures to pollutants are of special concern. In this study, the human neural stem cell line hNS1 was exposed to different concentrations of the pesticide. We found that CPF induced apoptotic cell death at the highest doses tested, and promoted the generation of astroglial cells.
