Resum

We take the opportunity to define transformational learning with two of the experts who have contributed most to this field in recent years. Beyond defining and situating themselves among the different theoretical perspectives linked to this type of learning, the authors reflect on what limitations are associated with the purpose of transformational education, especially if it is carried out from a prescriptive framework, when it has not been explicitly requested by the students. Questioning any kind of indoctrination, we discuss how to broaden students' perspectives, facilitating their adaptation to natural situations they are experiencing. We ended by discussing the potential of dialogue in fostering processes of autonomy and emancipation in students.
