Abstract

The subject of Nutrition and Dietetics is a basic discipline in the academic training for the Degree in Nursing from the University of Alcalá, taught in the first semester of the second year. Among the many activities, we emphasize those that have been implemented in this year (2012/13), case studies as a method of active and mea- ningful learning that takes place in formal groups, for which real cases of health practice are designed. This learning strategy requires an integration of the acquired previous skills and the training of the students to offer an individualized nursing care. With this strategy, the acquisitions of specific competences of the subject and the generic competences of the collaborative work have been requested; which are really useful to the student in his professional practice. In this paper, the implementation of case-based learning is exposed and analyzed as a methodological tool in Guadalajara Nursing Graduate Degree. Finally the results obtained, strong and weak points, and the level of student satisfactionare analyzed.
