Resumo

The «creative drama» is a little-known teaching strategy in higher education of science and engineering. In humanities usually involves the interpretation of human and social roles in certain situations, but in experimental or technological sciences, drama is a figurative representation of a complex scientific or technolo- gical process where participants assume the role of different components or ele- ments involved, having to represent objects or abstract concepts, far away from the perceived reality or the human scale. The dramatization facilitates meaningful learning and clarification of abstract concepts, as well as understanding of complex processes through consciousnesses «from the inside» of the very elements that play a role in them. This activity promotes learning through self-observation, taking advantage of the natural human ability to represent the perception of complex phenomena in order to understand them. The creative drama stimulates logical as well as intuitive thinking, internalizes knowledge and generates an aesthetic pleasure that facilitates meaningful and memorable learning. This paper presents practical and original examples, already applied in many courses to encourage student participation and facilitate meaningful learning.
